Dems win big
A huge election for Democrats today. They didn’t just win, they trounced the Republicans by double digits everywhere. Everyone is saying that this is a clear sign that Americans do not like what is happening to the White House, and in the White House. People are running to the Democrats in one of the biggest off-year election swings in memory.
Former undercover overseas CIA officer Abigail Spanberger, a Democrat candidate, became the 1st woman governor of Virginia by a whopping 14 points. Former lieutenant and helicopter pilot for 9 years in the US Navy, Democrat Mikie Sherrill became the 2nd woman governor of New Jersey by another whopping 13 points. Democrat socialist Zohran Mamdani became the first Muslim, and South Asian, and African-born Mayor of New York City—the youngest in over 100 years and beat Cuomo by 10 points. Proposition 50 in California led by Governor Gavin Newsom neutralized Texas’ partisan gerrymandering orchestrated by President Trump to carve out potentially 5 more Republican seats in the 2026 Midterms. Instead, Newsom put the measure to the voters of California in deciding on a temporary measure to “fight fire with fire” and it was an overwhelming win with 11 million + people coming out to vote (no person was on this ballot, just the Prop 50). And now Newsom is calling on Virginia, New York, Maryland to do the same and match the President’s gerrymandering for the 2026 Midterms in Republican states.
And that wasn’t all. The Virginia Legislature gained at least 13 seats for the Democrats. They went from 51 seats to 64. And the Lieutenant Governor and the Attorney General Democrat candidates won in Virginia. The three Democrat Supreme Court Judges in Pennsylvania won by double digits, so the PA supreme court stays a liberal majority. Two Democrat candidates beat Republicans and flipped two seats in Georgia in a statewide election upset. etc, etc. If you are a pro-democracy type, it was a good night for you. And clearly, Americans are not blaming the Democrats for the Government shutdown, that is obvious.
