Tribute to George Washington on Independence Day
Happy Independence Day - My tribute to George Washington. "Surrender The Sword." This is one of my most patriotic and romantic compositions I've composed. I recorded it with the Nashville Symphony, conducted by Kenneth Schermerhorn, and it was released by Sony Classical Records on my album called Liberty! An American Revolution.
May this music elevate the spirit. Note: the B section of the piece augments in length each time it comes back, representing the moment that Washington surrendered his sword in order to run to be America's first president. The ceremony in the Halls of Congress where Washington relinquished his sword—well, it seemed like his brand stretched across the room and went on forever. And it did.
